So I think I've been putting this off for way too long and I really need to sort it out this week before something bad happens. I've got a 2019 Honda Accord and I noticed last week that the front tyres are looking pretty smooth on the edges, like almost down to the wear indicators smooth, and with the summer heat coming I know that's just asking for trouble. I drove past a tyre shop in Al Quoz the other day just to ask for a price and the guy quoted me 1800 dirhams for four tyres of some brand I'd never even heard of, which seemed really high to me. Then I called another place and they said 1200 for a different brand, so the price difference is huge and honestly I have no idea what I should be paying or what brand is actually decent for Dubai roads. I don't need anything super fancy or high performance because I just drive normally to work and back, but I also don't want cheap tyres that are going to wear out in six months or feel unsafe when the road is wet which does happen sometimes during winter. A friend told me that the best way to figure this out is to just visit website that compares different tyre options and shows what the fair prices are, because apparently a lot of shops will try to charge you double if they think you don't know anything about tyres. I'm hoping someone here can tell me what a reasonable price is for good quality tyres on a midsize sedan like mine, and maybe recommend a specific shop that you've used before and had a good experience with. Do you guys usually go for the big chains or the smaller independent shops? And how do you know if a tyre brand is actually good or if it's just cheap rubbish that won't last? I really don't want to end up spending too much or worse, buying something unsafe just to save a few hundred dirhams. Any advice would be really appreciated because I need to get this done like this week. Thanks everyone.
