Took the JK out to Al Qudra last weekend for a bit of light dune bashing nothing crazy just letting some air out and enjoying the sunset and the thing ran like a champ the whole time but I go to start it this morning to head to work and it just cranks once really slowly and then the dashboard lights do that flickering rave thing and I'm standing there in my villa driveway in the Springs sweating through my shirt already and thinking about how I really don't want to deal with a tow truck and a garage waiting room, I know these Jeeps have that little auxiliary battery buried under the fuse box for the ESS system and I've read that if one goes bad it can drain the main battery and cause all sorts of weird electrical nonsense so I don't want just any random battery van to show up with a universal group 34 and hope for the best, I was searching for a mobile option that actually lists Jeep specifically and I came across a Jeep car battery replacement service that says they carry both the main and the aux batteries for the Wranglers and Grand Cherokees and they can come to you which honestly sounds like the only way I'm getting out of this without missing half a day of work and listening to a garage guy tell me my serpentine belt is "looking tired" when all I want is a working battery, so I guess I'm just checking if anyone's had a mobile battery swap on a newer Wrangler where they actually knew about the dual battery setup and didn't just scratch their head and tell you to take it to the dealer because that's the kind of expertise I'm hoping to find before I call anyone.
