The Nahantu Lion is earned by clearing every Tenet of Akarat across the Vessel of Hatred map, not by a single quest reward. It's a solid side goal while you're building up D4 items and working through Nahantu's dense jungle routes. There are 30 Tenets in all, and each one needs more than a quick interaction. You'll find a corrupted shrine, figure out what its Stone Guardians are asking for, then clear the corruption. The payoff is worth the detour: experience, Nahantu Renown, a title, and the lion's reins.
Read the grey statues before touching them
The Grey Stone Guardian puzzle is the one that catches people out. Three statues stand around the damaged Tenet, but lighting every one of them won't solve anything. Take a few steps back and look around. Somewhere close by, there's another matching group of statues. That distant set shows the correct answer. Notice which figures are already lit, then return to the shrine and copy that same pattern. It sounds simple, though the second set can blend into rocks, old ruins, or thick plants. Slow down here. A quick look around usually saves a second trip.
When the guardians won't respond
Some Tenets look broken at first because their Stone Guardians cannot be used directly. You may spot little lights drifting toward them, yet there's no prompt when you walk up. In these cases, the shrine itself is the target. Hit the corruption wrapped around it, including any vines or growths nearby, until its health is gone. Your normal skills work just fine. Other shrine encounters follow a clearer pattern.
Red guardians call in hostile waves, so clear every enemy near the shrine.
Jade guardians test your timing; ignite all three before the first light fades.
Grey guardians require the matching pattern from the second statue group.
Silent guardians need direct damage against the corruption.

Nahantu has six districts, with five Tenets in each: Teganze Plateau, Field of Giants, Restless Canopy, Five Hills, Seven Stones, and Lingering Hatred. Open waypoints before starting a serious sweep. Then pick one district, search its paths and edges, and don't leave until you've found all five. Waterfalls, narrow trails, and half-collapsed corners are common hiding spots. Keeping a simple count as you go makes the whole run feel far less messy.

Once the thirtieth shrine is cleared, you receive Akarat's Dedicant and the Reins of the Nahantu Lion automatically.
