I've got a 2014 XF 3.0 that I absolutely adore driving but for the last couple of months every time I fire up the AC in the morning before heading out to work in Sharjah there's this musty sour smell that comes blasting through the vents for the first minute or so and then it fades into something that's just vaguely stale and I've tried all the usual tricks like spraying Lysol into the intake and changing the cabin filter myself but the smell keeps coming back and my wife refuses to get in the car now unless I've had the windows down for ten minutes first. I'm starting to think there's mold or bacteria growing on the evaporator core because I've read the Jags of this era have a design where moisture can get trapped in there especially with our humidity and if you don't run the fan after parking it just festers, but I'm also worried it might be a blocked drain line or something because sometimes there's a little puddle of water on the passenger side floor after a long drive with the AC on full blast. I don't want to take it to just any shop that'll spray some air freshener and call it fixed when the real issue is a clogged drain or a leaking evaporator that'll eventually short out the blower motor or worse, so I've been looking for a proper Jaguar AC Repair Center in Sharjah that can actually pull the dash apart if needed and clean or replace the evaporator without charging dealership prices. Anyone else here with an XF or an XJ dealt with this kind of AC stink in our climate and found a shop on this side of the creek that fixed it for good without just masking the smell for a week.
